Bio

Rachel grew up in Evanston Illinois. She studied at Smith College, The University of Jerusalem and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she received a double major in Political Science and Women’s Studies. Rachel graduated with her MFA in creative non-fiction in 2005 from The New School while moonlighting for the Electricians Union, working as a dog walker, waitress, babysitter, and bank employee. She lives in New York. House Rules is her first book.
